Katrina Millward has had a passion for horses and Dressage from a very young age. She began riding as a small child on the legendary Paddy The Pony and did her first Elementary test at age 9 where she won and placed against adult riders. She moved onto a thoroughbred mare, then a Quarab who she trained to advanced level and then by age 15 was riding FEI level Small Tour on Stirling Simpatico. Katrina has trained with some very good coaches including, Miguel Tavora, Clemens Dierks, Sue Hearn, Rodrigo Matos and Jeremy Janjic.
Katrina's mother Jody has a knack for breeding very talented warmbloods. Her current team of horses includes 3 of our home bred babies using the bloodlines of Don Ramiro, Django of Cacharel, Salute, Regardez Moi, Jive Magic and Smash Hit. Katrina does the majority of the training of these young horses with DP Delta now at Medium Tour, DP Djadore - Novice/Elementary and DP Shall We Dance has not long finished being started. Last year she added a pony to her team who we hope this year will excel at pony dressage. 2018 will also see Katrina start training and competing horses for clients.
Katrina's way of training suits most horses. She is patient, kind and goes at the horses pace. Her focus is based on developing confident horses who are correct and soft.
Katrina also enjoys travelling to New Zealand, hiking, fine dining and going to the movies.
